Western Reserve Hospital Partners is a collaboration between a large number of local physicians that came together to create a physician-led, patient-centered, full-service integrated healthcare delivery system, including a community hospital. The goal of the organization is to provide patients with a full scope of healthcare services,
"The goal is to
provide patients
with a full scope
of healthcare
while meeting its vision of being a healthcare system driven by primary care physicians working in collaboration with select specialists to provide high quality, efficient healthcare.

Western Reserve Hospital Partners together with Summa Health System started a joint venture at the previous Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital location with the intent of building a new facility several miles north of the current location.

Summa Health System, impressed by the vision of the physicians and the successes they had realized already, partnered with the physician entity so that the joint venture could acquire the license of Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital.

The physicians envisioned the initial step with acquiring the Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital license as an opportunity to build the culture, management style and philosophies sooner than they expected, and on June 24, 2009, Summa Western Reserve Hospital became the Northeast Ohio regionís first physician-owned, for-profit, full service hospital; a majority physician owned joint venture between Western Reserve Hospital Partners and Summa Health System.
